Got a question?
How is SME Comply NOT a legal practice
There are still some areas of law that have to be performed by a regulated person (such as a lawyer). These are referred to as the “reserved activities” and are as follows:
conveyancing; conducting litigation; advocacy (essentially acting on someone’s behalf in court); wills and probate; notarising (essentially validating overseas documents); administration of Oaths
We do not conduct any of these reserved activities. We provide an advisory consultancy service for data protection, risk and compliance matters, and as such SME Comply Ltd is NOT regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. Although legally qualified individuals may work at SME Comply, they are doing so in a consulting capacity.
What if I don't understand
Legal terminology can be difficult to understand, that’s why we offer our advice in plain english. We can patiently take you through anything you don't understand. Silimarly, our documents are set out in simple terms, for all staff to be able to understand. We don’t quote sections of acts where possible, or where not required (but can provide the sections if you would like them). Any queries the please get in touch by sending an email to email@example.com.
